ERes Electronic Reserve: Information for Faculty

Electronic Reserve provides course reserve materials on the Web. The system used at BMCC to provide these materials is called ERes.

  • Materials are available 24 hours a day-7days a week.
  • Types of materials that can be provided include: journal articles, book chapters, syllabi, assignments, PowerPoint presentations, Websites, and multimedia.
  • View, download or print reserve materials on any computer with Web access.
  • Multiple users can access the same document simultaneously.
  • Password protection enhances copyright compliance.

  1. Pick up a Faculty Electronic Reserve Request form at the Circulation desk in the Library (S-400) or download the form.
  2. Fill out the form and submit it together with the materials that you want to put on reserve.
  3. There are three ways in which you can submit the materials to the library:
  • Bring materials to the library in person. (Print materials can still be placed on traditional reserve at the circulation desk.) Materials in electronic format can be submitted on disk.
  • Materials in electronic format can also be e-mailed to Prof. Zhao at tzhao@bmcc.cuny.edu Accepted attachment formats are Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDF. Please indicate your name, department, semester, course title and course number.
  • Materials can also be faxed. Our fax number is 212-748-7466.
  • Tip: The better the quality of the photocopy, the better the display of the material on the Web.
